Silo Grove

Silo Grove is a dynamic landscape that celebrates the rich history and unique character of the site, drawing inspiration from the existing concrete silos and the interplay between industrial and natural elements. At the heart of the design stands a 30-foot, three-story silo, constructed from recycled materials, with a winding ramp and strategically placed windows that invite natural light and provide panoramic views of the plaza. The silo, adorned with lush vertical vine plantings, serves as both a visual anchor and a symbol of renewal. In line with the silo are two distinct circular spaces—an intimate sunken courtyard with a radial design and water feature, and a vibrant radial garden, which acts as a passage and focal point from the plaza entry to the silo. Both garden and courtyard incorporate lush plantings that enhance the site’s natural beauty while fostering a sense of tranquility. The plaza itself is framed by rows of crape myrtles, offering shade and creating inviting spaces for relaxation. Coffee shop outdoor seating and farmer’s market-style tables line the edges of the plaza, encouraging social interaction. Lush plantings envelop the entire site, creating a harmonious blend of nature and industry for this extensive hyper-nature feel. Silo Grove is a place of convergence, honoring the site’s past while embracing a vibrant, sustainable future.
